Weekend Supervision Program for Boys
The Guided Path Weekend Supervision
Program offers opportunities for student development through
adventure-based programming, community service projects, and
experiential education. Weekend sessions last from Friday
evening until Sunday afternoon.

MISSION: Challenging young men to make right Choices
for positive Change! Challenge, Choice, Change!
PURPOSE:

Provide an intervention option for
juvenile court without removing young men from their
home.

Transition young men from residential
treatment back to their family, school, and community.
WEEKEND SESSIONS
PURPOSE: Provide opportunities for
positive growth and development.
GOALS:
Challenge young men physically and
mentally to instill positive values, develop social
competencies, and improve positive identity in a structured
environment through:

Adventure-based activities (i.e.,
caving, camping, backpacking, mountain biking, rock
climbing)
Community service (i.e., Food Bank, municipal projects,
park cleanup, youth camp maintenance)
Experiential education (i.e., challenging learning
experiences involving structured trips to Washington,
DC; Gettysburg; Pittsburgh; Philadelphia)

Advance Balanced And Restorative
Justice principles by promoting accountability, safe
communities, and vocational competency development.
Meeting the Needs of Youth
Students normally complete seven weekends
with weekly home sessions and school contacts by case
managers. However, weekends can be reduced or extended
according to referral agency recommendations. Family therapy
and support services with or without weekends included are
also available. Guided Path also offers single weekend
respite care.

Safety
-
All staff are trained in First Aid and
CPR
-
When wilderness activities take place,
at least one staff will have special Wilderness First
Aid training.

Students are briefed extensively on
risk management for every activity to maximize safety.

If not medical insurance can be obtained
for little or no cost to you. You only need to
apply. The program is called Blue Chip.

List of Items To Bring for the Guided Path Weekend
Program

ALL GUIDED PATH STUDENTS ARE
REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS EACH WEEKEND:
Bowl and spoon for meals.
-
Toiletries for a shower and brushing
teeth - towel, wash cloth, soap, deodorant, toothbrush,
toothpaste, etc. We may take a shower.

Clean change of clothes - socks,
underwear, shirt, pants.

Sleeping bag - if you do not own or
cannot borrow a bag, it is your duty to inform OI staff
BEFORE Friday, NOT when you arrive for the weekend.
-
Appropriate clothing and two pairs of
shoes (one being boots) for each season, especially warm
garments for cold weather. If you get cold, it is your
fault.
